A new Bills stadium?
It was in our local news all last week that former Buffalo Bills QB, Jim Kelly thinks building a new football staduim on our waterfront is a good idea.
Should taxpayers have to pay for new NFL stadiums?
We have a perfectly fine stadium out in Orchard Park which has been home of the Bills for almost all my life, the taxes on it is so insane, and I wonder how more it's going to cost the people of Western New York because everyone is on the bandwagon of building up our waterfront?
Any ideas or thoughts on this issue?

They won't ever in my opinion be a waterront stadium. What is wrong with the stadium in OP. The County and the state has spend millions out there renovating that place.

The truth .... There is nothing "wrong" with the stadium in Orchard Park, only that a former Buffalo Bills QB thinks a new one should be built on the waterfront now that our area has come into money arised for "waterfront development".

They won't be building a new stadium anytime soon, unless somebody like Tom Galisano buys the team. With all this talk about moving to team, it would be foolish to move. One of the reasons why Buffalo has some of the cheapest tickets in the league is because they have an older stadium. If they built a new one, they prices would get jacked up with many people not being able to afford tickets.

Not really sure if they wouldn't be able to afford the tickets there. The fans wait all year to shell out their $ to watch the team they love. In Charlotte they have to pay for those PSL's plus their tickets.

I for one hope they move out of WNY. They cost more money to local taxpayers then they benefit

WNY would freaking die if they left... forget the taxes would someone... look at all the niche businesses that are wrapped around them... plus the history and tradition... I sat on my Fathers knee when Kemp was the qb watching the games at the Rockpile... Moderator cut: Personal attack

I couldn't agree more, having been here all my life, the Buffalo Bills are of no benefit to me (like other more important services, police, fire, garbage pick up, libraries, hospitals etc). Those important service we pay taxes for are first to be cut and yet the contract between the Buffalo Bills & the County continues.
We probably wouldn't have the need for a control board if the Buffalo Bills were gone.
Another thing that has me "fedup" about this idea of a new stadium, a million New Yorkers are without medical insurance but the priorities of having to have that football team here, or having to build them a new stadium to keep them here is more "sicko" than Michael Moore's movie.

The Bills will never leave WNY and I for one am glad about it. Not wanting the Bills or any sports team in your home area is about as un-American as one can get. You want some die hard Bills fan talk about the team and your views about not wanting them in WNY, head to the The Buffalo Range, where the Buffalo fans roam! - Powered by vBulletin it's a serious site for serious fans of the Bills.
I live in Orchard Park and love the fact I can go to a game right in my own backyard.

Per Jim Kelly, he already has a list, a long list of potential buyers ready to purchase the team when Mr Wilson dies or sells it. Mr Wilson also said he would never sell the team to an out of state group that would want to move he team, Wilson also said that the team will not leave WNY, period.
I don't like the waterfront idea, you will lose your tailgating as we know it now, the parking will probably go up, ticket prices will increase, traffic in and out will be a nightmare to say the least and if they build it close to Lackawanna I would have to guess the ground there is, in some way, contaminated from the steel mills. Where is this money coming from? We already have high taxes, put the money into the revitalization of downtown Buffalo, fix the bridges and roads, clean up some of the empty buildings but don't waste it on a stadium.
