I was just talking to someone about this thread and the comments therein and I was informed the some of the old grain elevators are still being used by General Mills.

Where I am in the City, you always know when a fresh batch of Choco-Puffs is being baked up.

Yeah and honestly.. they'll never do it, but if I was in charge.. there would be no new development on undeveloped land anywhere in Erie County... IOW no more expansion anywhere. We have plenty of property ready to go right in the city -- for that matter even within the suburbs.

Kind of like what Portland, OR does.

We need to be building up on , or reworking what we already have.

Everything has its price though. While I agree with you, partially says redeveloping on land can have its benefits in the city limits.

No. I sometimes drop the "route", but will stubbornly and proudly resist the "the".

I lived in Buffalo in the early to Mid-90's. I thought back then the Skyway was elevated for a few miles more and they took a few miles off it's length. I remember major construction at the time. This is before they removed that huge Bethleham Blast Furnace.

Can anyone tell me if that rusting Russian ship is still around. The one they were making into a casino.

Unfortunately, that eyesore is still there. Some smart group ought to think about using it for ghost tours, if its structurally sound, which I doubt. Last I heard was the guy who owns it refuses to sell and was complaining about the taxes he is still having to pay to leave it docked. Maybe we should dock it in his backyard, see how he likes the view.

Leave it alone...convert it to a bike path/trail in summer and a snow mobile trail in winter after a cage is put over the top...!!!
