Dangerous ; it needs to go. How many times a year does it get shut for ice and/or high winds? There is a waterfront; unused....go to Angola and along Rt. 5. From palatial homes, to summer cottages, to beaches -- not much for the people. As much as I detest the insanity of some of the "we know best" bunch around here, this should never even have been built.

Now that's a topic for a different thread! Personally, I wouldn't mind if the grain elevators could be preserved in a productive way. I mean I am not going to lose sleep over them getting the wrecking ball... but they are part of the history of Buffalo.

I agree with this too.. they really shoudl leave at least a few of them up and/or find other uses for them for this reason. I don't know too much about it.. I do know the Grain Elevator was INVENTED in Buffalo.. and I also remember hearing that like these are the last one in the world or something like that.

The other factor is it may be prohibitively expensive to try and take the silos down.. they were really built to last.

I agree but can't give you a pos rep for it because I gave you one (I think) on your comment of the repainting the skyway .

I personally don't care about Buffalo's skyway. Because after tomorrow, I won't be a Buffalonian. They can tear it down. They can leave it there. They can tear half of it down and leave the rest up. Or they even can put up a second skyway. Who cares!!!! It's just Buffalo!

Perhaps a "Don't let the door hit you in the ass" is in order here.

Patience, little mouse. A few more hours of Genghis and that's it. Too bad I won't get to see this Sunday's blizzard, I hear it's going to be a beauty. But that's just part of the allure of western New York, right? "We know how to deal with this stuff". No, Buffalosers, *I* know how to deal with this stuff.

Thanks for calling me creepy, btw.

Where are you going? I can't remember. Is it NC?
I wish you the best of luck. I know what it's like to WANT to move AWAY from a place and what it feels like to want to move BACK! Good luck wherever you choose to live.
