Hi Ramanujam,

I was in the same boat as you not knowing anything about Buffalo. I just just came here 2 weeks back and was in the process of finding an accomodation. Still finding.

Based on my findings there are 2 apartments with many Indian community.
Dannybrook apt in Williamville where 2 bd goes for $1000 plus.
Idylwood in Cheektowaga same range.
Amherst - is a University students area and the apartments are much cheaper and only suitable for students and are not really clean or nice.

You can contact me if you need more info.

Are you working in downtown. There are few in downtown a bit pricey but if you are looking for community then Cheektowago or Williamsville will be your best bet.

I believe that there is a substantial Indian population in the city near UB's South Campus as well: Census Tract 004601 in Erie County, New York
Census Tract 004601 in Erie County, New York Population and Races

Census Tract 004500 in Erie County, New York

That would also put one near the Metro Rail line as well.
