So my wife and I just moved back to WNY after a stint in Northern VA. Today I got an e-mail from my car insurance provider, Geico, telling me to change my address in their system and they'd recalculate my premium.
Well, imagine my shock when the 6-month premium for my wife and I combined shot up from $385 to $1060!!!!! Now granted, this is for two cars ('08 Malibu and '10 Civic), but still... even after raising a bunch of our deductibles I was only able to get it down to $970 or so.
I was wondering, is this a normal price range for this area??? I can't really remember what I was paying back in 2004-2008 when I still lived here and was driving.
