In all likelihood, the number of workers commuting to Niagara Falls everyday isn't much higher than the number of tourists in Albany, which also wasn't included in the above calculations. It certainly wouldn't make up a 10% difference between the two cities.
Even Gary, Indiana has fewer assaults per day than Niagara Falls despite having a population of 80,000:

That's the kind of company that Niagara Falls is in.

It's pretty sad that the site of a world-famous tourist destination cannot elevate itself above the likes of Schenectady and Utica, two of the worst cities in the entire state in terms of reputation. Talk about not living up to potential!
