Speaking of Cuomo....I was thrilled Hillary lost because now the Dems have a chance to rebuild and reboot and they have many promising choices
Cory Booker NJ
Julian Castro, TX
Kirsten Gillibrand, NY
Tulsi Gabbard, HI
Sherrod Brown, OH (the oldest of all the canidates, will be 68 in 2020, so probably best as VP, and a great choice)
Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders will be mentioned of course, both would be great VP's but they will both be up there in age by then. I also think those two are best off as key leaders of the party
The above is a very diverse collection of names, which the diversity democratic party should embrace in a positive way for 2020
I think NY could put two candidates forward in the primaries for 2020 with Gilliband and Cuomo
My biggest fear however is that Andrew Cuomo will run and be a favorite for the party. Running against a guy who ran on an anti-establishment platform whether if you believe he is not....people bought into it, especially in upstate NY and Cuomo would be about as establishment as you get with a of potential for attacks against him from Trump.
And Gillibrand, I like but The only thing is that she will remind people Hillary, ....both being women and Senators from NY..... She's nothing like Hillary, but the Trump campaign will paint her as "little Hillary" because she is from NY and basically followed in Hillary's footsteps.... I like her, but at this point, Hillary is the democrats version of Bush.....she's not as toxic as Bush, but she's not someone you wanna be compared to right now, and she's about as close as it gets
I don't know how Gillibrand would fare in WNY if she were to run vs Trump, but I'm certain that Cuomo although would be a deadlock to win NY thanks to downstate, I can imagine would be unpopular by many outside of the city of Buffalo
