It always is. Using the name of a city instead of clearly specifying it includes to substantially more affluent suburbs makes the list inaccurate. That just 'skews' the list. if nothing less, costs of homes vary between the two.

True, but $60,000 in the Buffalo area is still pretty good considering that the metro area median household income isn't even $60,000 and the area has suburbs where you can get a decent/fine home with that salary. This goes for all of the areas listed as well.

And wife who has interviewed twice and worked for Lockheed can't get hired there.

Are you serious? Man, I believe that some of these HR departments are just being tight because they feel that they can, while there are some talented folks out here. It doesn't make any sense.

And I have two friends that have worked there for over 20 years. Both engineers.
