Can anyone recommend some auto insurance companies? My current one is with AAA and they dont provide insurance service in buffalo area. It expires in a weeks time, I really do hope to hear some recommendations.
thanks. Also does anyone know some reasonably priced furniture stores in the area? I checked FWS online, but they dont have much. |

Try Allstate Ins.,State Farm,Merchants Ins. to name a few. I have Allstate and pay less than $400.00 a year. Ashley Furniture has reasonable prices and better quality than FWS or you may look into Value City Furniture in Cheektowaga.
Hope this helps. |

For furniture, consider antique stores. This may sound counter-intuitive, but a lot of antique stores carry great old beds, dressers, cabinets, tables, etc.--very functional, sturdy stuff, not just fragile ornaments. Often you can find intact bedroom sets. Virtually all of these will be better-built, of better materials, than anything new.
And they're often CHEAPER, too. We got a beautiful bedroom set (bed frame complete with head and footboard, tall dresser, wide vanity, chest) for $800. You'd have to buy junk if you were trying to buy all that new. Buffalo has some fine antique stores, but consider antique stores in Clarence, too, which is just to the city's east, and an easy drive. Also, there are a ton of fine antique stores and "malls"--big buildings where many dealers display their stuff--all along Routes 5 & 20 across the top of the Finger Lakes, a beautiful drive in itself. I'd strongly recommend buying only what you immediately need, and then being choosy as you enjoy browsing the antique stores over the next year or so. It's amazing what you can find with a little looking, and the traveling around to look can be a great, leisurely way to learn the area. We've filled our home with gorgeous pieces on probably less than $5000. Good luck! |
