Question Lockport, NY - What do you think about it?

I know this question has been asked but it was a year ago and things are changing often so I will ask it again. I am moving to Lockport, NY from FL. My fiance got a job there (somehting you cant find here in the town I live in FL). We chose Buffalo bc it is close to all of my family in Canada. Now, what does everyone think about the town of Lockport? Is there a bad side or area I should avoid? If so between what streets so I have an idea when I look on a map. Any input, good or bad would be helpful. I dont want to be shocked when I get there. Well, only by the amount of snow.

Default Where to Live in Lockport

I used to live in Lockport several years ago. Lincoln Avenue area is a very nice area. There are new subdivisions towards the Town of Lockport. I did notice recently there are several homes for sale in the Continental Drive area and Independence Drive. The South end and further East of the City was always good areas.

You might also look in the Pendleton area also. It is closer to Rte. 78, Transit Road if you need to get to Buffalo or Williamsville quickly. There are some newer homes in that area as well right off of 78.

I hope this helps.

Out toward Gasport and Middleport and Medina are nice. Rt. 31 and 104 are good areas.
If you go toward Medina, the old homes are fantastic and the area is cheap. OTOH, the travel is longer.
