Again, OP, both padmapper and walk score can give an idea of available apartments in the area, with the latter offering some idea in terms the degree of walkability near an apartment.
Also, like any area, there will be good and bad areas. I would advise that you do your own research as to what areas fit what you are looking for, OP. All three of those areas you mentioned are generally fine.
Again CK, the walkability is only of use if you have no car. What difference does it make if you have to drive 5 mins to an awesome store or can walk to it? For example, those apartments near the Boulevard Mall have a high walkability score, but I wouldn't recommend them. There are also places with high walkability in sketchy sections of the East side. You are misleading the OP instead of offering them some useful places. Links to websites are something the OP can do on her own. I believe she was looking for some concrete suggestions of specific places to live. Let us not forget it snows and it is cold a good portion of the year and walkability is much less important if the sidewalks are not shoveled and are covered with ice. Maybe someone who actually lives or has lived in Buffalo could offer more assistance.
Again OP, the Walk Score site is just another source at your disposal that can give an idea of walkability in areas you are interested in. Nothing misleading or anything else, besides just another source. Ironically, the other source mentioned is essentially the same, minus the walkability scores.
Also, keep in mind with Walk Score that it may not keep some things in mind like transit, infrastructure, etc. So, it is basically giving a general idea and just an option to help in terms of your search.
Instead of posting these links, why not give the OP some advice to help her? The OP is having difficulties because of past credit issues. These links are of no help, if they won't rent to her. Do you know of any places that would rent to her?
Historically, the area of the district that feeds into West High tends to be relatively more culturally diverse, but there are areas of the East High zone that are more diverse than others.
Thankyou everyone. Yesterday I got a call from a lady and she said as long as my income is stable with no previous evictions and problems with my landlord she will let me live in the 2 bedrooms. I was beyond happy. She told me to put down a deposit in which I did and she took the apartment off the market and will save it for me to move in Nov 1st. Thanks.

Were you able to find a place in one of your preferred areas?

Yes thank you in Williamsville near Maple Rd. I signed the leasehold. However, someone told me that Williamsville is not as diverse as I was told and I could be discriminated against as a black person. I do have my fears but it's too late now as I already signed to move in.
