Hamburg is indeed a nice town, but if you're looking to move to the Southtowns, try Elma, (where I live). We moved there from Che****waga because they have one of the best school districts and the lowest property taxes in Erie County.
We are about a 15 minute drive from either Buffalo or Hamburg. It's true, we do get more snow in the Southtowns.
For housing, there are plenty of decent priced large existing homes on the market. To build new, you must build on no less than 5 acres of land, which keeps the town looking pretty and wooded.
