Need hotel advise in Niagra Falls.... Please Help ! (Buffalo, Niagara Falls: hotels, casino)

I was wondering if anyone has stayed on the NY side of Niagra Falls and if so could reccomend a hotel that is nice for a family to stay in. I have searched the internet and see many reviews for hotels on the Canadian side but no positive reviews for the NY side.... Im not sure why. If it is safer or nicer to stay on the Canadian side, can you reccomend a fairly inexpensive hotel that would be suitable for children. Any help you can give me would be great, Im exhausted from searching !

The Seneca Casino has a very nice hotel, the food is pretty good there as well. However it's about 50 minutes south of the falls, but in a lovely setting.

There's another Seneca hotel that's much closer - it's right there - the Seneca Niagara Hotel, Seneca Niagara Casino & Hotel. I've walked to Niagara Falls, Canada from that hotel.

There's also the Hampton Inn on Rainbow Blvd., Comfort Inn on Prospect Pointe, or the Crowne Plaza on 3rd St. If you stay at a hotel on the American side, look for one with the zip code 14303 - those are the closest ones to the Falls.

On the Canadian side check out Comfort Inn Clifton Hill, Days Inn on Centre St., or Best Western on Lundy's Lane.

If you can find a hotel on one of these streets on the Canadian side you'll be in a good location:

Ferry St.
Niagara Pkwy.
Falls Ave.
Lundy's Lane
Fallsview Blvd.
River Rd.
