Default other tourist attractions besides Niagara Falls?

My friends are coming to Buffalo for a two-day visit. Besides the Falls, what else do you suggest they see? Preferably somewhere that has distinctive style from other cities in the US. Thank you!

I used to live in Buffalo, and you must take them to the Erie Basin Marina downtown. Grab lunch at The Hatch and take a walk down the breakwall to the lighthouse, go to the top and take in the view. Then go to the Naval and Servicemen's Park and explore the warships (it's been moved, I hear, but not far). I believe that near there, they have recently opened a reconstruction of an old canal neighborhood or something.

In short, park at the Marina and walk around! It's great!

For the night, see if there is a free Shakespeare play in Delaware Park. Spread a blanket on the grass, have some wine and cheese, and enjoy a free production in the open air.

schizuki, before reading your reply, I was going to suggest the same thing (the Marina). Some of the best sunsets are on Lake Erie.

Other attractions to the City of Buffalo, dang, schizuki... I was going to say Delaware Park too.

brightkelly, For a suggestion on good (Buffalo) wings, go to Duff's. See the view from the top of City Hall and check out restorations to the Darwin Martin House -Frank Lloyd Wright (at a cost, but well-worth it). It's remarkable how much of this treasure has been restored. Oh, and it's right in the area of the Buffalo Zoo, it's not like Toronto's zoo, but a good selection of animals to see. Zebras are my fave

When are your friends coming? You didn't mention that. Many of the activities in the area can be seasonal as well.

Canal Fest runs through the 20th and The Italian Festival on Hertel Ave starts tomorrow. You could try the casino in Niagara Falls to do some gambling or even just the buffet, Darien Lake, Artpark has a free concert with Michael McDonald on the 22nd, Amherst Recreation Concert Series at Bassett Park is having Lance Diamond (he's awesome) and it's free. Hope this helps some.

DEFINATELY the Commercial Slip - Erie Basin Marina, it is gorgeous and make sure you stop to eat at the Hatch!!!

From the Erie Basin Marina Observation Tower:

The New Erie Basin Marina Beach:

The new Boardwalk/Central Wharf:

The new Whipple Truss Bridge:

And the new famous Commercial Slip:

Don't forget to check out the Naval Park:

And the view of the first main Buffalo Lighthouse:

Lots to do! And it's all fairly New!

Make sure you go there - it's all within 2 miles of walking distance from the Observation Tower all the way to the Commercial Slip/Boardwalk.
