Cheektowaga
Hi, i'm relocating from Pennsylvania and I found a few apartments in Cheektowaga and Lancaster. Are those places nice to live in? After reading some other threads I saw that Amherst, Tonawanda and Clarence were nice. But I haven't seen much on Cheektowaga and Lancaster, and Depew for that matter. Are they nice places to live in or should I avoid them?

Those areas are fine, I suppose to answer your questions, it depends on your needs, as far as Cheektowaga, most of it is very nice, however some areas I would stay away from... I lived there for years and enjoyed it very much.
welcome!

What areas of Cheektowaga do you think people should stay away from?

Is this a loaded question, sounds like one if I ever heard of it???
OK - I would not want to live close to Walden - why?? Because of the traffic, hands down. I have done that already, while it is close to everything, bottom line is that its a busy street.

Really depends what areas you are referring to (I work in Cheektowaga). If you drive down Union, there are not so great areas if you hang a right on any main road and go past Harlem Rd, but that is where CK ends I believe. The left side of Union is the airport and some decent suburbs. Check out Depew too, its often paired with CK.

By all means - all those suburbs are great and safe places to live. It's all personal preference in the Buffalo Suburbs - all are great and safe, it just depends on which one looks the most appealing to you - some people love Clarence - others may love to live in downtown Williamsville - or Depew/Lancaster etc. It's all location for your job basically, and all suburbs are pretty equal! Discover them for yourself - its better than relying on stranger's advice! =]

Agree. I always recomend to do SWOT analysis. People have to decide for themselves. Do your homework by identifiying your needs and wants, first.

I live on the border of Lancaster and Alden. Both towns are VERY safe. Depew is in the town of Lancaster but part is located in the town of Cheektowaga. From your descriptions, I would look in Lancaster village for a nice place.
