Bass Pro is approximately 12 % of the overall square footage of the project. It is not contingent on Bass Pro going through though that is the expectation. The Buffalo Bass Pro was designed before the recent layoffs of a portion of their store design staff and they already have accepted at least one bid - from a contractor to begin work on the foundation. I would say the Buffalo store is still likely to happen - especially because of the heavy public subsidy. Also although they have put their Augusta Georgia store construction on hold they have recently (within the past month)revived talk with Memphis about putting a store in the Memphis Pyramid.

It's called desperation. What's Bass Pro waiting for to sign
isn't 66 million of taxpayers money enough ? how many years ?
almost 10 years ? how many plans, what happen to the
DL & W site, or wait the Central Warf Plan O remember what
Bass Pro said, they want to be in a area were their's already
lot's of retail.

There's tons of people that go to downtown Buffalo to shop at it's several dozen stores. Why wouldn't Bass Pro want to go to a city where the population is declining past the point where our population is lower now that it was over 110 years ago (despite the US population about quadrupling since then)
It's a pipe dream. This whole thing centers on Bass Pro. Without Bass Pro it'll look like the Main Street Mall in 10 years. Even if the Bass Pro comes, I doubt it will do well. Why would Torontans drive 2 hours when they have a nicer city right there? The Buffalo metro area sure doesn't have it... Bass Pro knows that, which is why they aren't taking Byron Brown's bribe to come here.
Few people are confused as to why all Buffalo ever sees are expensive plans and little action. It's because no one is willing to dump money into the city (not unless it's a tax write off). Look at 80% of the stores you all went to when you were a kid. Are they doing well? I doubt it. Is there a newer bigger store in place? Probably not.
This area is dead and cold. This project isn't going to happen in the next decade, matter of fact I can write the Buffalo News headline in 2015, "Waterfront Development Project Hit Yet Another Roadblock." You all used to hearing those words? I sure am. They are probably the most common in the newsroom next to, "Buffalonians are going to be paying a little more in taxes this year to help pay for..."
You notice this thread is 90% plans, only maybe 10% action. That isn't normal for a city this big. In most cities there's to much going on to care about some 70 year old vacant building getting asbestos removed. Not only that, but in Pittsburgh, or in Denver there is so much construction, you couldn't talk about it all.
When the last time you saw a NEW tall building in Buffalo? 30 years ago?
The only new construction in the area is call centers on Millersport (the future of our economy will indeed be reliant on those lousy jobs)

Um... a few years ago they built the homeland security building near the ECC city campus location and right now they have a building going up near the City Hall building. They also tore down the old Aud and renovated several other buildings including the Pierce Arrow Museum.
Once again, cought making random things up about Buffalo.

I don't know what "cought" is, but I didn't make things up.
Let me remind you that tearing down a building is far from building one... And the two building you mentioned are not very big for a large city. I said, "When the last time you saw a NEW tall building in Buffalo? 30 years ago?" Neither of those buildings are/will be tall.
Please continue, what did I make up about Buffalo?

Both are 100% publicly funded too
alot of City's are getting new Fedeal Court houses
they justed started building one in Phoenix that's 20 stories high
PS Both Las Vegas & Phoenix already have Bass Pro's
It's just a store, IKEA & Super Wal Marts are more crowed
then Bass pro
