Dr Funky,

These are very interesting photos. Thanks for posting them. But surely all of Niagara Falls, New York doesn't look this way, does it?

I'm curious about Niagara Falls, New York. Is there another side to it besides these deserted streets and abandoned buildings?

Thank you

THW

What is the purpose of this thread? Did Dr. Funky have a bad experience in Niagara Falls? Is he trying to scare away future residents or visitors? I have found many pleasant neighborhoods in the area, and truly enjoyed visiting the State Park at Goat Island. There are also areas of my city (Houston) which appear similar or worse than the above photos, but we would rather focus on the positive aspects of our city.

Beautiful photos! Thanks for posting them.

I enjoy too going to cities and looking at its dark side instead of the pretty one. Niagara Falls is a good city to see ruins and decay. I was so impressed when I went there- thinking it would be an amusement park and finding crumbling buildings all over.

The Canadian side... depends how you like it. I think I'd take the ruined American side any day over the monstrous attractions and ugly development the Canadians have imposed upon the Falls!

Got to agree with you there. Canadian side is definitely tacky, in-your-face - not to mention a sacrilege to the historic and natural beauty of the area. However, the success of the casinos and hotel development there have brought a much needed economic boost to the community - something the NY side needs desperately.

Sorry I couldnt get back to you, I actually forgot about this thread.

I posted it to show that its not the nice freindly happy "smusement park" that people think it is.

People get killed, shot, robbed, stabbed and all that **** out here and people in Albany wanna ignore it so that tourists can come through, spend their money and have that stuff go right to Manhatten.
