I guess it would be a matter of opinion. I've lived in Buffalo, Toronto and Denver. I've never lived in NYC. Other than the theater districts I'm not sure why you would say Toronto is more like NYC than Denver. Perhaps you are not as familiar with Denver as you imply. Saying you can easily drive to Boston, DC, etc is ridiculous. Well realistically you can easily drive anywhere. But once again the point comes up if you live in a wonderful place that has everything you want why do you need other cities nearby? I doubt the NYC forum is touting it's 7 hour drive to Buffalo as a selling feature.

Its actually more like 6 hours to drive to NYC but you would never drive into NYC. By plane its only like an hour or so.

6 hours really isn't that bad of a drive to a place like NYC. Its nice to live by other cities because its a good change of pace. Some cities within driving distance to Buffalo don't necessarily offer more than Buffalo, but its good to be in a different area from time to time.
Toronto is way more like NYC than Denver is in terms of culture, people, diversity, etc. Its just much more cosmopolitan than Denver is.

once again I will say you all are probably not as familiar with Denver as you trying to imply. Denver is one of the most ethnically/culturally diverse cities. If you were familiar with Denver you would know this. People come from all over the world to live here. By the way I've met about 20 people since I moved here from WNY and not a single one said they would ever consider moving back to WNY. I don't want to argue with Buffalo people anymore. It's like picking on the blind.

Toronto is one of the most diverse cities in the world. Denver is not even one of the most diverse cities in the United States. Denver isn't on the same level as Toronto.
I don't even live in Buffalo so your comment about arguing with Buffalo people makes no sense.

Why do you continue to do it? You are obviously happier where you are than you were in WNY & I am happier in WNY than I was in Colorado Springs. I don't choose to continually post on the C/S boards telling people the reasons I disliked it & bash those that choose to live there because everything isn't for everybody & the reasons I grew to dislike the area may not be very important to the next person. Just because you personally couldn't find happiness in this area doesn't mean that all of us that are currently here are destined to be as miserable as you were (though posters like you will continue to come to this board to try to convince us all that is the case). Every area has good & bad, whether one can be happy or not has a lot to do with what is most important to that particular person & their family ......... that's something all the WNY bashers never seem to understand.

I'm very familiar with Denver, its no Toronto. Colfax has a few nice live music venues but nothing different than any other city of 250K +. The 16th St Mall is a nice place to visit once or twice but its really nothing special (Church St in Burlington, VT is much nicer). The large amount of homeless people hanging out at the 16th Street mall doesn't help its image IMO. LODO is a nice place to go bar/club hopping but its really no vast improvement over Chippewa. Denver obviously has more to do than Buffalo (and I've never argued otherwise) but its a far cry from places like Toronto, Philly, NYC or even Dallas.

Really? I drive to Baltimore many times a year (as that is where I am originally from & most of my family still lives in the area). Its no short drive by any means but its not a particularly grueling trip either. In the time it takes me to get to Baltimore you would be out in the middle of the wheat fields of Kansas.
If you don't believe a 7+ hour drive is realistic than I guess you can't drive from Denver to anywhere of note.

You're right it is a waste of time and I won't bother anymore. I really don't care if a bunch of strangers relocate to Buffalo. Thanks for setting me straight. Final note. I love Toronto, never said Denver was better, said Denver was more similar. Buffalo is a crap-hole and you all know it but are stuck there for one reason or another. I feel bad for you. Bye!

Actually, Denver's diversity is different that Toronto's. Denver is about 31% Hispanic(mainly Mexican), around 12% Black(if that) and has a few Asians and Native Americans. Toronto is one of the most diverse cities in the world.
Denver is pretty isolated, while Buffalo is within a 6 hour drive of NYC, Toronto, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Columbus, Ottawa, Detroit and many regions like the Finger Lakes, Adirondacks, Catskills and 1000 Islands.
