Default Niagara Falls area

All,
Thank you in advance.
Can anyone provide information about the Niagara Falls area? Specifically cost of living, rent, social scene, weather. I am a 30-something, single male with a dog, looking to move to the Buffalo area in the Oct time frame.

I dont think Niagara falls is quite the place for you - sounds like you like the city though - how about allentown in buffalo? For you the burbs don't sound like that is what you are looking for - theres not much going on sadly in Niagara Falls and it can be rather rough in many neighborhoods

the cost of living is pretty cheap though

All I can tell you is what I have heard from a co-worker who lived there not to long ago (maybe 3 months)- the rents may be low but the crime is very high. He also mentioned it is very run down and very depresing. You can find an equally affordable area elsewhere. I have only driven through and based on my observation I can agree. Im sure there are nice neighborhoods- but on the whole you may want to seek out areas like the Elmwood Village- affordable, entertaining and even though it is not perfect it is much better. I hope I didn't offend anyone from N. Falls.
