The Central Terminal is haunted
Who watched the show Ghost Hunters tonight?
They were at the Central Terminal and found evidence of "spirits" roaming the building.

Hearing & remembering stories while growing up, I always felt it to be true, watching ghost hunters confirmed it.

I heard about it on Buffalo Rising - I couldn't believe it! So I watched it with my family because of the great exposure of our great Art Deco Landmark in our great city. I even taped it to watch it again and wow - it really showed some interesting stuff about our "haunted" landmark. They said it was the largest building they have ever done for a haunting. It was really something else - I hope many of you who missed it will be able to watch it again on the re-runs, etc!

You know why there still roaming? I do, the same reason I am pissed off at Buffalo. Such a beautiful building left to die.

Such a shame that the area surrounding the terminal is so industrial and not eye appealing.
People watching this on cable were probably getting even worse images of Buffalo, than they already had formed.

I take it that's why your location is listed as West Seneca. To dog the city of Buffalo over the internet.

Unfortunately there isn't much that can be done. It's very expensive to up-keep the building. I remember hearing of one of the owners stripping it of copper before he let it go. It's a famous landmark, and remains famous so many years after its closing. I do share your thoughts, though the burden would be too great for the city to take on.

I worked within walking distance of the central terminal as recently as 3 years ago, after I graduated college...
I'm very familiar with the area..

I've lived in Buffalo all my life, I choose to remain here. Thus your saying "People watching this on cable were probably getting even worse images of Buffalo, than they already had formed." Is a little hard to swallow coming from a guy whose left the city, yet feels the need to put Buffalo down with those words. Everyone knows the neighborhood isn't what it used to be, aside from leaving, what had you done to help the community? There are several groups involved with not only the Central Terminal, but the neighborhood around it. They can't do it all alone, and comments like the ones you made makes it harder for the good people to do well.
These are a few:
Broadway Fillmore Alive
Buffalo Central Terminal
Perhaps a little respect from your West Seneca home for the ones who make Buffalo their home? Ya think? Many of us still like to see what's positive.
If given the chance, honestly, what would you do (anyone else reading can chime in) to help the Broadway neighborhood?
Because my work involves another area of the city, I would though, try to keep the community active in watching out for one another. I would also lobby the city for better policing on the streets.

They didn't show that much of the area surrounding the terminal at all! I actually commented to my friends that they did a nice job of *not* showing how lousy the neighborhood looks.
I was actually alerted about the show by a friend who lives in another state. She saw the earlier broadcast and e-mailed me, so I watched the 11:00 showing. She thought the building was amazing, and I'm sure she wasn't the only one. The TAPS team themselves couldn't get over what a great building it is.
If you're talking about the terminal itself, it's no secret that the building has been stripped, looted, damaged, and fallen into an extreme state of disrepair. And they mentioned that on the show. So what's the big deal?
