Visit my family, work on my house. Eat a lot of food . If I could stay longer I would but I don't get out until July, so until then my ass belongs to the Marine Corps which means I am stuck it the black hole of the Unites States Jacksonville, NC.

The lake gave us a nice blanketing. Maybe these pictures will give you a little shiver.

Welcome home when you get here!
Even if the Lake is mostly frozen over, we are getting snow from Canada and some from Lake Ontario to supplement what lake Erie isn't "pouring" on....this isn't going to melt soon and it has been pretty regular for the weather this year....

I just spent a couple weeks in Montreal. The climate is similar to Buffalo's but it's significantly colder there. The people really impressed me, I didn't hear one whine or complaint about the weather and there's no hint of an inferiority complex or need to put down other cities. They seem to really embrace the climate, they are proud of it and they are conditioned to deal with it (for example, just about every car I saw had winter tires).

Well....all of Canada is pretty cold, that's why. In America there has been this fascination with the "sunbelt" since the 1970's....so since then, it has been considered "uncool" to live in an area with cold/snow winters. In Canada; unless you want to go through the hassle of immigrating to a country that has a warmer climate; you can't really move within the country to find a "sunbelt" climate so people just accept and/or embrace it. Basically in America we (well not WE, not everyone and not me I love living in Upstate NY and don't really mind our winters) have become major wusses when it comes to weather.
