Im not claiming that I am an expert, but I would say anywhere in the city would be good in regards to services. Noticing what you have wrote in your previous posts, I would say that either Elmwood Village or Allentown would fit your needs. I would say you could get all your needs met within walking distance of either of these neighborhoods. I guess it really depends on what you need close by, because most parts in the city have amenities nearby...now whether those are desirable neighborhoods are a completely different topic.

well i want to be in a decent area i dont want to live in a place where people are selling crack and getting drunk all day by any means so i guess i am asking what is the most ideal place thats central to a social hub in the city and is not to bad to live by with ample public transporatation

Probably within walking distance of Main St. bus/metro stops, or Delaware Ave. and Elmwood Ave. bus stops would be good for you. There are bus stops just about every block or so. If you need to get to the suburbs a lot, that gets tougher.

A lot of places downtown (nicest part of the city can be some parts of downtown), along with the Elmwood Village, and Allentown area as others have mentioned. Traveling by public transportation including light rail, metro bus, and other services are used by many. Buffalo is a very ideal place for the citizen without a car.

You should look into Elmwood! Really!

Main Street isn't all that bad really - consisting of the metro subway rail line and plenty of metro bus stops around, including the fact that you're downtown where a lot of activity is, Main Street is on the comeback and for some people, is the ideal place to live.

You should also try and make it up over to Buffalo and see for yourself the areas mentioned and throughout the 40 square miles of the dense city to see what floats your boat. There's something for everyone here. It all depends on personal likes.
