Where can one stay outside of the Niagra Falls area?

Outside the main tourism area, but not to far?

Anyone know of a good town and/or lodging?

Thanks!

Lewiston will get you just north of the actual Falls but still in the middle of everything the area has to offer (its also a much nicer town than NF). I suspect they still get their fair share of tourists in the hotels though. Tonawanda & North Tonawanda might be more of what you are looking for. Realistically, if you are staying anywhere on the American side you'll encounter less of the tourism than you would on the Canadian side.

If you are looking for straight business lodgings may I suggest the inner city of Buffalo. It is about a 15 min. drive and trust me there is not a tourist in sight (this is the curse of my city).

Pet peeve of mine....

It's Niagara Falls.

It seems to me that since the word "Viagra" came into the vernacular, more people spell Niagara wrong.

To answer your question: You won't find lots of tourists in Niagara Falls, USA except right near the falls itself. Niagara Falls Ontario is a whole different story.
