I was planning to use Buffalo as a stopping point to get to Toronto Canada. I had some questions though that maybe some of you who are more familiar with Buffalo and travelling over the border could answer.

I plan to fly into the (BUF) airport and catch a taxi to the Greyhound terminal which appear to be on Ellicot St. I am planning on doing this early Friday morning around 8 AM, how long would it take a cab to get down there??? I want to leave enough time to get there so I don't miss the bus which leaves for Toronto at about 10:15 AM, is there a really bad rush hour on Friday mornings to get into the city? is traffic bad?

Secondly, can you rent a car in Buffalo and leave it in Canada? I only need to get to Toronto and would drive and rent a car but I would not be returning to the city to go back home. Do rental companies allow you to do this (I would want to rent the car from Buffalo somewhere and drop it off in Toronto). My guess is that this isn't worth it..

That's all, thanks for all your help. If you all want to know anything about coming to Washington DC or living there feel free to ask me..

Later.

I would not rent a car to drop off in Toronto, I dont know for sure, but would think you could not do it .

If your plane lands on time and you are in the cab by 8:30 am, you will be downtown at the Bus station no later than 9:15 and thats if there is a ton of traffic ......... Buffalo doesnt really have real traffic jams unless there is an accident and the expressway is right around the corner of the airport, if its backed up the driver can take gennessee into the city ...

again, if your plane is on time, you are good to go enjoy

There is actually a Megabus terminal right at the airport. They are far cheaper than Greyhound, and have free WiFi, and are way more comfortable.

You should take a look into them if you are into traveling by bus.

Don't forget your Passport!

I didn't know about Megabus, however after checking their website, the buses that leave for Toronto from the airport are not that many, there's only 3 or 4 that take off around 8 AM 2:45 PM and 7 PM and some other time, so not much choice there.

I went ahead and bought a bus tix, so I am all set I was concerned I'd have a hard time getting downtown from the airport on a Friday morning. THanks for everyones help
