Wow. What is going on in my hometown???? Why are prices sooo high and over 120.00 for a crappy Comfort Inn? Not that I would stay there but wow. We were thinking of the Buffalo Marriott but wow..200.00 a night? Going 8/16- 8/20.........
I was shocked at the rates? Just being summer maybe? I just don't remember paying these rates a year ago!
Are there any big events going on????

1st stop.......Mighty Taco------then Wolter's Bakery and Pumpernik N' Pastry! Yummy.. No pastry hearts in NJ bakeries--only cannoli lol hahah.

Weird, UB doesn't even get going till Aug. 31. Maybe the hotels are still anticipating alot of college people moving in.

The area's hotel industry has boomed tremendously. Rates have gone up, about a dozen hotels have gone up across the area within the past 2 years, and the demand stays high... Tourism is up!!!

Have you never heard of priceline.com?

I forget the last room I paid over 75 per night for, and I only stay at 3 and 4 star hotels.

Or hotwire.com?

Cmon now, is this a joke..

Supply and demand. They double their rates during the summer to capture the Niagara Falls crowd and then they plummet during the winter when tourism is way down (and occupancy hits around 50 percent). Occupancy rates in Niagara Falls are sometimes around 25 percent in the winter- they make all of their money during the three month summer period.

I use this internet forum to figure what people have successfully bid on priceline, and what zone they used, and what star level.

You should be able to stay anywhere decent for 60-70 a night.

We use hotels.com alot if we have to stay when visiting family. Check around UB North and Maple rd in Amherst. More than $100 is too much just for a budget hotel.
