Default Lake Ontario Beaches??

Hi Folks,

I'm wondering if Western Lake Ontario has any nice beaches. I've read that Olcott has a nice beach. Does anyone know anything about this beach? If I went to the beach on Lake Ontario between the Canadian Border and Rochester, which would be the nicest beaches in this stretch of shoreline??

I just went to Olcott Beach about a week ago. It was nice, but kind of small, however it had a nice view of the water and the top part of the Toronto skyline. Water was clean and fresh, not much else to say, other than the beach was closed (went anyway) because of supposed water pollution. Canada still dumps their waste into the Lakes while the US has gotten much cleaner in that sector.

Check out Golden Hill State Park down by the boat launch. Its not a sandy beach, but its still nice and flat and nice to walk along and maybe have a picnic. Its also cleaner and less busy than Olcott.

I love Olcott! It's such a nice little community. My favorite place to fish is off the piers, even though I almost never catch anything.

I have never seen Toronto from there though, you must have gotten a really nice clear day.

The actual Olcott beach park has been cleaned up a lot over the years.

I still would not swim in the water there, but it is nice to look at sometimes..

The little town of olcott is pretty hit and miss, there are plenty of vacancies where businesses used to be..

Its more of a cottage community now than anything else.
