Default How much $$$ would it take for someone to convince you to move to.....

Buffalo NY? Would you live there for $50K/year? Would it take $100K/year?

What kind of job offer or opportunity could attract you to Buffalo NY?

Considering I have family there and a fondness for Buffalo, I wouldn't mind living there. The winters would be tough though. If I had a job offer maybe 25% above what I make now, I would seriously consider it.

I could and since my husband has an Air Force buddy who lives in Hamburg, I think he would like it too. I know my salary (education) would go up going from Florida to NY (again).

$300K per year minimum. Just for a few years so I can save some money and pay for a house with cash somewhere else.

You're not comparing cities. This is a Buffalo-specific topic, so it's being moved to the appropriate forum and not city vs city.

Buffalo's a great city. Although I would miss Ohio terribly, I'd still definitely move there if I was offered a decent job with great pay. Considered going to nearby Rochester for college, actually (University of Rochester). Also gotta love the fact that Toronto isn't too far away, either.

That's funny! I totally agree.

My number would be $55k a year (which is about the average starting salary for my major in many major cities). But I know that Buffalo has succeeding at scaring the high paying jobs away, so I don't need to worry about that.

Did you know that an average graduate from the UB School of Management makes about $39,000 a year in Buffalo? The average of US cities outside of NY is $50,000.

That means that the average new graduate loses $11k per year.

Uh, yeah, I'm outta here. I don't care where, as long as it's not as depressed an economy as Buffalo (which shouldn't be tough to find).

Every time I think that Buffalo couldn't get worse, I am surprised by how much worse it gets. No wonder 10% of the population gets away from here every decade. (And most are not dying to come back, as some posters here seem to think)
