Fr. Pat at the Newman Center at UB in Amherst. Great guy, connects with all, ranging from freshmen to retired and all in between. Progressive, relaxed, fun to be around.
Thank you so much everyone for you help, I really appreciate all of your reply's.
SungBuffalo do you know if this is the correct address of the Newman Center 490 Frontier Road
Amherst, NY 14228? Also do you know if they ever address animals going to heaven, I know that Catholics don't believe that they do but maybe since this church is more relaxed they have a different view. Thanks again for your help everyone.

thats the chapel on Frontier ... very small and I second that church and
Fr Pat. A new church is currently being built to accomadate the congregation there ....
I cant speak for Pat, but knowing the way he talks for many years I would think he would say that since God created all creatures, I cant imagine any world without them .... why would God create something so beautiful and comforting to human beings to leave them out of eternity?
I would recommend the Chapel at Elmwood. Very good ministry, very lively. Not what you are used to probably, but I would take a look there. It's not my church, but I know a few people who go, it is a very young church too.
BuffaloGoo - The office is in the middle of UB's north campus, on the second floor of a building known as The Commons. Right next to the bookstore. There is a map on UB's site, but the roads can be difficult to navigate. Best to ask someone for directions.
Thank you all so much for your help I truly apprciate it. I might try the Newman Center at UB, I think it might be just what I'm looking for. Is the mass there really crowded, should I go early to get a seat? I don't want to take anyones regular seat, should I just stand in the back?

Newman Center mass is not overly crowded. The inside joke is that Pat has his watch set to "Newman time", which means 9am mass usually starts at 9.10-9.15. The small white chapel, which has been used for years, will be succeeded by a new building within the next 2Qs.
Large events are held at St. Joseph's, on Main Street immediately south of the UB South Campus. A more traditional setting, beautiful inside, nice music, many families. I believe Fr. Jack is the big cheese, a long-time friend of Pat's.
My wife would be happy to show you around and give you her perspective, if you'd like. She has a very long history with Pat and the North campus group. Let me know and I'll put you two in touch.
Thanks so much SungBuffalo, all of your info has really helped me a lot. I will let you know what I decide but I think your church might be the right fit for me. Take care.
