I luv the Waterfront (especially to keep coming back to seeing what's new and improved), Elmwood Village for shopping (I don't do the suburban malls anymore, eeew) people watch, eat, drink and visit the many galleries, FOOD, from charlie the butchers inside the Ellicott Square Building to Chef's Italian Restaurant, Sea Bar for sushi on Ellicott St. (MUST Try the Beef on Weck Rolls, mmmm), The many museums (Albright-Knox Art Gallery, Science Museum, Buffalo Zoo, and so on)... I can go on and on.

Honestly, every city is pretty much the same. Whatever you can do in buffalo you can do the same in a bigger city. If you want to go out to the country, okay, there are places that have a nice country side. The only thing different would be Niagara Falls and that is not even in Buffalo, but still counts.

I'm not from Buffalo, nor do I live there but I like the architecture, culture, climate...(yes; including winter), the small businesses, and the efficiency of snow removal. Here in Ohio, we get less snow but ironically I find I harder to get around here than in Buffalo.

Down here in Maryland we get ice more than anything. We're right on that line of rain and snow during the winter. I would prefer snow over the other two.

And that's just the downtown library. The whole Buffalo Niagara library system has gotten very impressive over the past 10 years or so!

There is no Buffalo Niagara library system. The Buffalo and Erie county libraries have taken huge budget hits since the red budget blue budget battle The Niagara County libraries never suffered the budget cutbacks. All of the public libraries in Niagara County belong to the the NIOGA system. This is the umbrella group that runs all of the libraries in Niagara, Orleans and Genesee counties. Buffalo and Erie county libraries are not a part of the NIOGA system. One library card from any NIOGA branch in any of the 3 counties is good in al three. In addition you can download books for free from their website and have any item shipped from elsewhere within the system to your branch. in addition to books they have an extensive collection of CD's, DVD's, VHS, and computer and video games (PS2, Wii etc)
