Best Places to Live in WNY
there you go, forget the people magazine poll.. what say you all to if you could live anywhere in WNY where would it be? And or, where are the best places to live in WNY, and why?
I cannot name any as I do not lvie out there, but may be in a few years. I just want to be close to some great fishing, as well as hiking opportunities.

Personally I like Hamburg. Close enough to downtown that its not a big deal to get there but also close to Lake Erie as well as many parks, outdoor areas & ski resorts to the south of the metro area. The neighborhoods retain a small town feel yet they have all the conveniences of a metro area. Hamburg has low crime, good schools & affordable homes in good condition. While property taxes within the village of Hamburg can be pretty high, some places within the town aren't too bad.

By the way, there are many more pictures like this out there. They aren't copyrighted, but I can't link to competitor sites, so if you want to know what Buffalo is like without photo editing, manipulations, and not from the 5 areas where the city doesn't actually look bad....

Which is exactly what happened here.
I had a suspicion the last three didn't look like Buffalo homes due to the style of the homes and the fact that they are on hills. Two minutes of searching reveals that they are actually located in ATLANTA. I think that's in the SOUTH, isn't it??
Here is the page the photos are located on:
Flickr: r.kemp's Photostream
A also thought that the 4th one looked like NYC, and lo and behold - it's actually Brooklyn (and ironically it's a construction site)

Footnote - all of these images are copyrighted too.

OK, go ahead, I'll give you a few to try.
Tulsa, Lexington, Clarkesville, Aurora, Austin, and finally San Jose.
I'll you what, for every city you find 1 article about pandemic urban decay or blight on, I will find you 2 articles about Buffalo. So if you find 3 on Lexington, 2 on Aurora, 4 on Austin, and 1 on San Jose, I will get you 20 articles about urban decay in Buffalo.
You have 5 cities to choose from... It's a sure win for you right?

Oh well. It's not like I couldn't drive into Blackrock and find the same thing.
Trash Atlanta as much as you want, but realize that Atlanta despite it's problems is growing very quickly. What's happening with Buffalo... ummm... declining right?
Yes, people are realizing how terrible a city Buffalo is, and fleeing to Atlanta.
I guess that proves which one most people find better.
