Default Burlington Apartment suggestions

My fiance and I will be moving to the Burlington area in the next couple of weeks. We are from out of state and don't know the Burlington area very well. We are looking to rent a 1-2 bedroom apartment/townhouse/home in the Burlington area (or surrounding towns) for under $1000.

I have heard the Olde Orchard apartments are nice, but can't seem to find much info about them. Does anyone have other suggestions for decent apartments or rental properties that I should check out? Does anyone know anything about the Larkin Terrace apartments?

Thanks for your help!

No to Larkin Terrace. It's pretty run down. Olde Orchard is nice though. A former co-worker of mine lives there. I believe it is Larkin Realty that runs it.
Another thought is Dorset Commons on Dorset Street in South Burlington.

I checked out the Oak Park and Chaplain School Apartments and both were nice. Good luck to you.

I have lived in quite a few areas of Burlington(as a colleges student) and now live in Williston. Burlington has a lot to offer and there are plenty oh rentals especially now that college is out; but there are a lot of nice areas right outside of Burlington too and I am sure you could find a nice place close to the lake as well. I would check out burlington.craigslist.com and see if there is anything that looks good. If something is seeming to be a good find, let me know the street and I can tell you if its a good area or not- not necessarily the house. Other towns to look at which neighbor Burlington: So Burlington, Williston, Shelburne.. good luck!

I know there is a place in South Meadow that will be available as of 7/31, so you might want to check there. Stephanie is the leasing agent there and is very easy to deal with.
