There are places listed in both the BFP and Seven Days looking for roommates. Sharing a place would probably make it affordable and when your here for awhile you can look for a better paying job.

hey guys im sorry I havent posted for 6 months IM ALIVE. I am still in LA, but still wanting to move to vermont. I Will be making 10 dollars in hour now + tips, and I will have 12,000 dollars already saved with me. I found an apartment for rent for 1200 which I will be splitting with a roommate. I will have a 1999 Subaru Legacy AWD for the winter snow for only 900 bucks working with a strong engine. I want to move to Vermont because of all the great things it has to offer.

I am almost 19 years old in 2 weeks and the best birthday present for me would be to live in Vermont!

Everyone here in CA says omg Vermont is beautiful , but you are going to freeze to death. I mean I love snow, but one thing I need to get used to is driving in the snow, thats why I got a AWD vehicle to be a little bit safer while driving.

$10/hour is pretty much in keeping with VT wages. Good luck.

Why, yes. We continue to save, even in harder times, though we know not everyone can do that even in the most prosperous times. Why do you ask?

Damn few VTers that I know are able to save much if anything, but I'm glad you are doing well. Do you think someone making $10 an hour and living in Burlington is going to be able to save much?

A rhetorical question, I guess. I'd have to talk to people or at least seek data about people living in Burlington. It probably wouldn't be possible for me in those circumstances but who knows?

As Captain James T. Kirk said of the supposedly unwinnable Kobayashi Maru test (which he won), "I don't believe in the no-win scenario."

It's worked for me so far.

James T. Kirk won that test by cheating. Unless you're planning to cheat on your taxes (an often used strategy) I fail to see how that example is applicable here!

That's his strategy for playing out that principle, but it's not mine. Just because I don't believe in no-win scenarios for myself doesn't mean I cheat.
