I've got an acquaintance who teaches at Colchester, so I'll recuse myself.

Jericho is a nice area, MMU is a high school of about 1,000 students. More rural then essex or colchester. The islands do not have a high school to my knowledge, i believe the kids must chose to go to boarding school or commute an hour or more to burlington or south burlington

I lived in Essex Town for 20 years and now live in Essex Junction. I liked the town but LOVE the Junction! I live in a wonderful neighborhood, ( just like Mayberry!) where folks know and help one another. Kids walk to school and ride their bikes to sports activities etc. It kind of depends on what you're looking for. I'd go crazy in the Islands in the winter but it might be perfect for you! Schools in the Junction have a very good reputation. They are smaller than the Town schools. I just can't recommend the Junction enough! Oh, and there a state of the art recreation facility with loads of camps and classes for all ages. Look up EJRP. Fell free to ask questions! I do have friends in the Islands. One rents a house in the Junction during the winter so it's easier for her kids to get to school. I believe you can choose among at least a few high schools if you live in the Islands.
