Default Poll: Your Favorite Coffee Mug

I need to place an order for some promotional mugs. Please help me spend wisely. Tell me about your favorite coffee mug. Or put another way, what would make you keep a mug or chuck a mug?

My favorite coffee mug broke. I don't want to talk about it.

I have vintage mug collection. My favorite ones are ceramic porcelain like an old diner mug. My very favorite one has a White Tower graphic on it. I also have old ones from Howard Johnson and Dunkin Donuts. But porcelain ones would be more expensive to order, but they are very sturdy and have good heat retention. And a good mug should have a generous cup capacity also.

One my dad gave me years ago, has our family crest on one side and green shamrocks on the other side. I use it nearly every day.

I like the coffee mugs that hold roughly 16 oz. and easily fit in a car's cup holder (no handle). I think it's also important to have the open/close lid to prevent spilling. Having a metal interior versus a plastic interior is also appreciated, but surely increases the price.

Personally I like the thick handmade, pottery mugs that you get at a craft show. All the other 'promotional' mugs are a waste of space in my cabinet.

Greenmachine, When you're feeling better, send me a DM and I'll send you one of whatever I buy.

In our younger days, we used to make a game of collecting free mugs in Las Vegas (the way casinos used to get people in the doors, pre-buffet days). Some of the casinos are since gone (like the Sands). But the mugs remind us of fun times. Our business doesn't have that element of excitement - so the mug is going to have to provide it somehow. I did see some mugs that change color with hot liquid - but a little expensive at $5/piece.

PS Really liked the thought about a mug fitting a vehicle's cupholder.

I like ceramic mugs that hold at least 16oz. The handle must be easy to grip and big enough for my fingers to fit through. Would be nice to have one with a black interior to hide all the coffee residue.

Don't know if this is true, but have heard that the thinner the porcelain, the better the taste of the tea/coffee.
