How old are you? If you actually depended on this economy to make your living, you would NOT hope for $7. Gas prices effect everything, not just how much you pay at the pump. $7 gas would mean a 40% increase in food costs alone, providing the trucking business didn't collapse. I don't think $7 is in oil companies' best interest either, as massive demand destruction will occur by that point. We are NOT Europe. 90% of Americans depend on their cars for their daily lives. Outside of New York, Chicago, and maybe Boston (though thats pushing it), that is probably closer to 99.5%.
