I never said CAUSED, you must read it everything all over. I said that the healthcare industry focuses on cures more often than vaccines. because the cost of getting a cure is more than a vaccine. NOTHING ABOUT THE HEALTHCARE INDUSTRY CREATING DISEASES.

Fair enough, it was actually people posting prior to yours claiming this. You merely said that they "let" the people get the disease which struck me as an odd turn of phrase but I see what you mean now.

I'm still not sure how big pharma "lets" people get AIDS. It's a pretty preventable disease and there is a lot of research that goes into it. I think vaccinations might be a lot harder to come up with?

P.S. Are these the same vaccinations that a bunch of people blame Big Pharma for causing Autism and other child illnesses?

I think the Hepatitis B vaccine is newer but they are still working on C.

You are extremely naive and/or out of the loop of knowledge. Working on a cure for Hep. C, just like they're working for one for AIDS and cancer too? Buddy, do you know how much Interferon treatment costs for a Hep-C patient? Any idea what ins. and HMO's are making off them per year? There will never be a vaccine released for something so profitable UNLESS it can be substituted for an equally profitable margin.

And AIDS isn't particularly preventable when millions contracted the virus unknowingly through tainted blood product in the early-mid 1980s -- including after the CDC was full aware of it. (And the Hep-C epidemic was far more understood and STILL occurred)

You're in the clouds. Afterall, one needs to look no further than the Tuskegee Experiment to see that the government nor those whom the government has employed doesn't have our best interests in mind.

1) Hmmm....but there is a hep-B vaccine and without it people would have to go through expensive treatments.
2) A number of treatments that used to involve lengthy hospitalization (knee surgery, hip etc.) now take a day or three before you are out.

Lastly, the government isn't nearly as involved in medical research as the private sector. Breast cancer survival rates, as one example, have increased greatly over the last 20 years.
