I don't get preapprovals and all that because all three bureaus have promo offers blocked. I'm more concerned about the ads/flyers/bulk mail because you can't do anything about that.
I said, it is addressed to YOUR box. The USPS still has to put it in your box. Getting angry at them isnt going to help. Doesn't your post office have a garbage can in the lobby? Yelling at the carrier or clerk isn't going to help, trust me.

Step 1: They don't "have" to put it in my box, they choose to so they can get paid.

Step 2: Did you not read what I said? I said...

No different than getting someone else's mail, it's not addressed to me explicitly, so I should have the option to refuse it. I should be able to fill out a form that says, if it's not addressed explicitly to me by name, it does not come to me. It's their job to ensure I get my mail and only my mail.

With electronic commerce the USPS may be gone in 20 years. They are fighting it, trying to tax email but I think electronic transactions are the way of the future whether I like it or not.

No one is trying to tax email-that is an urban myth-and people were saying that electronic commerce would kill the USPS 20 years ago. Didn't happen. Not going to. Times change and the USPS changes with them.

I agree wanderintonc I don't fear our mail delivery will ever cease to exist. After all come hail, rain, sleet or snow the mailman will deliver! God Bless America!

I would think that increased online shopping would increase the demand for mail delivery.

That they want to survive is the reason they deliver all the junk mail. They have loss out to many other services in the past decade like parcel delivery. Now they are losing business to the internet;electronic payment and other services all the time. Therefore to provide home delivery 6 days a week become more expensive per delivery and you pay more . With fuel being so high I would look for another increase soon. Just like evrything it takes more money each year to provide the same service.

It dosen't matter if you put yourself on no junk mail lists as soon as you buy something out of a cataloge or online that company sells your information so the only way to stop getting it is to go to the store yourself and never fill out any questtionaire.
