Default would it make any sense to purchase WAMU stock right now while it's in the 2's ?

I know they are destined for doom...I have even said it. But what if....the rewards are tremendous if there is a glimpse of hope. What do you all think ?

If you think they are destined for doom, why would you even mess with it? I mean if you some money lying around and want to gamble, then take a shot, but it's fallen to the $2 range for a reason. There's very little hope of it righting the ship, that said, had you put your money in end of day yesterday, would've made 30% in less than a day! I just don't like to play w/stocks that are losing money (lost $6.7 billion in 2nd quarter). Hope it works for you if you bite the bullet and buy some.

brassbin is on a distinguished road
yet, if you bought yesterday before close and sold today before close, you would've made an almost 50% profit

Buy it only if you think their underlying fundamentals are strong and they have a solid balance sheet.

Don't let a cheap price be your guide. Go read their annual report.

I bought 1000 shares at $2 and smiling today. I viewed it as a total risk investment but with cash laying around earning less than inflation why not?

This time it worked out, I've had some losers too, believe me

I believe you....

BTW, I have some old shoes and worn out clothes I was thinking of giving away but it's too much trouble to pack it up and haul it over to Goodwill. Perhaps you have a couple more grand to throw away? I'll get it to you after I receive your check (not drawn on WM). LOL
