This is good way to summarize it.
I work with many Asians in the healthcare field and, they make good money because they value education and, obviously, have an aptitude for science.

Social Scientists have findings based on statistics on various groups all the time. It is not called stereotyping when the facts back up the conclusion that Asians do better economically, in school, and in most social statistics. It is a fact.

How do you think a stereotype becomes a stereotype?
On the other hand, the asians I know aren't that wealthy ... mostly because they paid way too much for their houses ...
They look good on the income side but, they may not have as much net worth as people think.

That's not a racial thing, that's the "American way", IMO. It's the keeping up with the Jones' effect except the new saying is "keeping up with the Jones' no matter if you can afford to or not".

A few quick notes here:
Prior to WW II: the Nisei (first generation US born Americans of Japanese lineage) despite sitting alongside stereotypical Mestizo Mexican American kids in the same classrooms as a group flat smoked the Latino ones in success later in life----------never mind that genetically both ethnicities were quite similar. That was according to Thomas Sowell, the sociologist. And remember too that the 'Japanese' people had to deal with the Internment Camps during most of WW II yet are still quite successful as a group.
Black people (and their US born children) who immigrated from Nigeria, Kenya, etc. are actually the most successful group here in the USA........more so than Asians as a whole. So much for racism keeping the Black man down.
In my particular case: my father was from an upper Middle Class background in Hungary; fled to the USA in 1951 (legally) yet I have not done well in life----------again, family can make or break a kid way more so than 'society'. My bio 'mother' being a paranoid schizophrenic messed up my mind pretty badly and I am still dealing with the repercussions even now at age 51. In all fairness I have never been arrested and can support myself but due to a series of financial blunders I should have been far ahead.

You're saying a certain group prefers hip hop instead studying. That is a stereotype.
