Not overpriced US stocks either paying lousy or no dividends, denominated in what will soon be rather worthless dollars (once the Fed monetizes the debt). But agreed that commodities have been oversold due to hedge funds getting margin calls and selling what they can.

Singapore, China, Swiss, CanRoys, etc.

J6P is going to get screwed twice. First by selling his gold and decent equities low, then by sitting on dollars that are going to lose value tremendously in the coming months/years.

I wouldn't even test the waters until the Dow hits below 7,000.

It'll get there. Don't buy before the election, whatever you do!!! They are just holding this together with Elmer's glue till then!

I have always been a big believer in dollar-cost-averaging and this downturn is a huge benefit to that method of investing (if in it for the long-turn)... I have continued to invest just as I did last year and the year before that..

Some time next year I'll consider buying into selected energy and related funds. Until then I won't even bother checking. Knowing my paper losses would be depressing.
