Of course they will extend it. Bread and Circuses is what democracies turn to in their decline. It happened in Rome and now it is happening here.

Information Please!
I don't think they are going to extend benefits. Unemployeement is full of "S" . They told me to register for school/college in order to upgrade my skills. A field that is in demand. So I did,at Kean University in NJ, I did all that was required, Pell Grant, Admission Fee,Transcripts, and course selection. Everything is completed all I need to do is register for Spring semester. Now the S.O.B's tell me that there is no guarantee that my benefits will be extended. She says that it is a misconceived assumption "that if you continue your education part-time and keep looking for a job your benefits will continue" According to unemployment I have used 46 weeks(1-yr-2mos.) according to her, but she kept giving me the wrong dates. Told her that I have been applying for jobs for a year plus. There is NO jobs. Can someone please, please give me some hope or knowledgeable information before I go off the deep end. Thanks

If you want to go to school, get student loans, don't live off unemployment. That's not what unemployment is for. As far as jobs go, there are ALWAYS jobs to be had. You may have to swallow your pride and flip burgers or do janitorial work, but there is always work to be had if you truly want to work.

IMO the benefits should be reduced every time they are extended. My reasoning is that people tend to become discouraged, and put less effort into finding employment, or become re-trained as time goes on. Programs like unemployment need to push people instead of giving them incentive to become complacent.

Another cloture vote held today, 97-1
THEY HAVE TO WAIT ANOTHER 30 HOURS OR IF THE REPUBLICANS WANT TO END IT EARLIER.......THEN THEY CAN VOTE ON THE BILL TO PASS IT. THEN IT GOES TO THE HOUSE, WHO HAS SAID THAT THEY WILL TAKE IT UP IMMEDIATELY AND PASS IT. THEN IT GOES TO THE PRESIDENT.
