Second extension for Unemployment?
The first extension is running out for some people who are still unable to find jobs (what jobs?), is the "rescue" package going to provide for a second extension for unemployment?

I believe they extended it twice after 9/11 I could be remembering wrong though. I was laid off then too. Finally got a job (yeah) after 6 months a few weeks ago. But really really feeling bad for those still looking. There are so many and retail holiday hiring is slow so many people are losing out on the retail life preserver.
When the economy gets this bad, the govt. should take some of that money and have free training classes in some of the fields that are hiring. Like CNA classes, trade certificates, etc. Hope they extend it for y'all.

Unemployment should be available until you find another job no matter how long it takes. Raise the income tax on incomes over one million a year to 90% and let the financiers that made this mess pay for it.

This "mess" started a few years back for the field I'm in (Engineering)".
I've been layed off several times as a result. Many Engineering companies have closed down, even the recruiters that placed people closed. This is nothing new to me, been going on for several years, after manufacturing left, then the Engineering Companies died.

So if you do that, why not just say "F it" and not bother looking for work at all? Unless something comes along that pays at least the same as unemployment there's no incentive at all.

That's a good point, however, by the jobs disappearing due to the companies going overseas, outsourcing, downsizing etc. and the government allowing this, there's not many jobs left in some fields let alone incentive to work.
