Why don't they just reintroduce the old Mopar design? I drive a 1969 Charger and would gladly buy a new one if it had the same qualities of the old model. Real sheet metal, chrome and styling, and go ahead and add the high-tech gadgets of today, with a modern engine. As long as the package is classic they will sell as fast as they can be produced.

Anyone who pays big $$$$ for an old Mopar is an idiot. These cars rust and fall apart, they were not expensive or built to last forever. They were American cars, something we can no longer find today.

Come to think of it, if they build that 2008 Dodge Challenger, it could help save the troubled company. That's one really nice looking car!

tall rick there's a lot of the older mopars out there worth some decent money, i don't think i would go as far as to say the mopar guys are idiots, i was just stating that they could be worth some good money in the future.

naturally older cars rust and such, but if a frame off restoration is done correctly it's going to bring some good money.

i'm not loyal to any one make, but there were some sleeper dodges/plymouths made that were pure muscle.

Just saw on the morning news that GM is going to buy Chrysler, could be an answer to the auto problem. I do believe that the American auto industry needs to work together in order to compete with foreign companies.

I don't get your post . On one hand you talk about the virtues of your '69 (real sheet metal, chrome and style) On the other you say one has to be an idiot buying an old Mopar. I own a 1970 340 Duster (bought it in 1974 and I'm the second owner). It has no more problems with rust than any other '70 GM or Ford does. Dollar for dollar anyone that restores a Mopar (muscle car) will probably get more money in return on their investment. Yes it does cost a bit more to restore a Mopar but in the end you will have a car that's just a bit more unique than an old Camaro, Chevelle, Mustang etc. By the way have you seen the new '08 Dodge Challenger. The bottom line is too each his own. I think using the word "IDIOT" is a bit extreme.
