Feeling rich?
Just curious, which of these make you feel more wealthy, the value of your home goes up or your wages go up?

I can't spend any increase in the value of my home until I sell it; the increase is on paper, only.
Because I'm retired, I mentally translated your reference to "wages" as "income".
I still couldn't vote, because there are two answers that refer to income going up. My response would be, I might spend more if my income went up; it doesn't matter what happens to my house value. {edit} OK, I voted for wages going up and house value going down; that's the worst case scenario with regard to home value.

The word wages does refer to income, including retitrement, investment returns, anything taxable by IRS. Like you I agree, home values are nothing but air till sold, it's the money in my wallet that matters.

This is why I voted for an increase in wage or income. Considering ill be buying an inexpensive house, even a 20% increase in the house value arent that much. Ill just get slapped with higher property taxes anyway. Plus it dont matter till I sell the house and its value can go back down. Wages I can invest with capital gains

He was asking what makes you feel rich. You and I are not rich but what gives you the perception of feeling like you have $$$?
