We have a local mall in Northern Virginia that has two Macy's....in the SAME mall!
I would have thought they'd close one of them, but nope, not on the list.

What's next? If the big department stores are hurting, you can bet all the boutiques will be shuttering soon as well.
Pretty soon our malls will look like ghost towns.

Macys has between 800 and 900 stores if you include Bloomingdales. This closing is just a little more than 1% of the total number. I wouldn't start with the doom and gloom "malls will look like ghost town" talk. These were underperforming stores and stores near new competition that probably should have been closed in any event. No need to panic.

Yes;they are just doing waht most big chains do in hard times;close the maginal stores auickly.They still have alot of stores.
