Would you protest?
If there was a nationwide protest organized, what would you want to protest?
If there was one, would you go?

protesting doesn't do anything as in holding up signs etc. Boycotting the power elite would be much more effective.
I would much rather be informing people - how to protect their families, where to invest their money so it is safe, what the government is doing, why you need to own a gun, why you need to have 6 months food supply and so on.
For the most part, people live in the short term. They don't look at history or see what is going on in the world. They live in denial thinking, "that can't happen here." So of course when those events do happen they either end up getting killed or being left on the streets to die. People are dieing in the snow storms because they lost power. If they had a generator, like everyone should have, they would be able to fire up the generator and get heat. However, they are 6 feet under now.
If you ask me, violent revolution is more likely than an effective organized protest.

Protesting is useless as those in power simply have no reason to pay attention. There is no accountability from our elected officials so why bother? The education/preparedness idea is the way to go, especially if a network of prepared individuals if formed to quickly inform orhers of emerging situations. Dealing with hurricanes here has taught me a lot about how to prepare.

If someone said they were protesting that the government is throwing around too much money right now, I might come out for that.
Or if they announced a you-screwed-us-so-stop-with-the-multimilliondollar-salaries-and-tight-fisted-lending protest on Wall Street, LaSalle Street and business districts around the country I'd definitely turn out for that. That could get ugly though.
Just realized in writing this that I wouldn't mind if someone threw a brick through a big bailout bank or investment firm's window. Mmmmm. That's not a good sign.

Protest what? The state of the economy?
This was brought on by years of inept government and you can only fix that with elections. We have already blown our chances many times.

Sure, why not... I have more time now that my hours have been cut.
If you don't say something, then why should anybody listen. American labor, and Americans in general are soo complacent compared to the rest of the developed world.
I'd protest against unfair trade practices, outsourcing without equal/sustainable returns for Americans/America, unfair lobbying (senators/representatives, government officials shouldn't be able to get any financial/non financial contributions but have only a base salary - they are public servants NOT rock stars!), and corporate welfare.

Just remember, Bush/Cheney's pet project: Patriot Act, can have you classified as a terrorist. Then, no sane person will want to associate with you from fear of being seen as "palling around with terrorist".
