Give examples of lowered prices or price points you have seen.
I've seen lots of lowered priced points at lower end restaurants where they created new items just to sell at lower price points. Examples are applebees, taco bell, quiznos. They all have new lower priced items since the recession began.
Lowes and Home Depot lowered their carpet installation prices.

I noticed almonds and walnuts come down.

House prices are lower.
Honestly, I've seen more prices going up instead of going down.

I bought a gallon of milk for $2. 73. I don't really check that often but thought it was over 3 dollars last time.

I haven't seen prices in the supermarket go down at all. Things go on sale, but that has always been the case. I know that retail stores like Macy's, J.C. Penney,Ect are always sending me coupons. A friend of mine bought a 47" flat-screen TV for under $900. I think that's a good price (not that I know anything about electronics).

I'm surprised no one has jumped on this one; GASOLINE Diesel is now under $2/gal where I live. This will start to have an impact at the grocery store in the next few months.
Milk seems to be coming down in price finally.

I'm absolutely amazed by the clearance prices in all sorts of stores! Last week, I bought organic whole wheat pasta for $1.09 a pound -- it was a clearance item. I'm seeing clearance sales on just about every aisle of the grocery store. Are the stores deciding to carry fewer brands and a smaller selection of items?
Today, I got a short-sleeved Spring cashmere sweater for $7.99. I bought two of them in different colors!

Some of the department store clothes prices are down. Milk has gone down a bit. Sale items in the grocery stores change around a lot but my total grocery bill is lower.
Automobile prices are down some but I don't expect to buy a new car soon. Interest rates are down.
Oh, and stock prices are down

Organic pasta and cashmere sweaters are higher end items. More people are going for cheaper substitutes, so that's why you are getting good deals on those items. If you have cash now and aren't afraid to spend it, now is a good time to get some luxury items cheap.
Most commodities are down, so everything should have lower cost materials and the cost to transport them is less. But then with produce, meat or milk, there could be a shortage and higher prices due to a bad growing season, so that would have to do with weather not the economy. That is one of the big differences between this recession and the great depression.
