Default H-1B Visa Law: Trying Again
Two U.S. senators are reintroducing legislation aimed at revamping the H-1B visa program for guest workers in the U.S., at a time of rising unemployment and growing evidence that the program has been marred by fraud. Senators Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) and Charles Grassley (R-Iowa) hope that the bill, "The H-1B and L-1 Visa Fraud & Prevention Act of 2009," has a better chance of passing now than when they originally introduced it in 2007........

Neither Grassley nor Durbin have demonstrated that they comprehend the insidious nature of "skills relocation" that the abuses of L1 & H1B visas promote.

I have nothing against high skill workers that want to become US citizens, or even permanent residents. The real problem is with the firms that use L1s & H1Bs to "drag the work" to a low wage country.

This drains the US of jobs while it builds the skills of foreign workforce! Insane...

About freakin time, this is one of the most abused programs I have ever seen. It is totally ridiculous.
