I really like Red Hat, it was one of my favorites, the commands they use are pretty much standard with the exception of a few flavors that I don't like. Debian and Ubuntu I think it was Ubuntu, I sat down on that and tried a service network restart, boy oh boy did it gripe at me.... I'll stick with Fedora, it's a piece of crap development software, but that's fine, it works. And I know the commands. So I'm happy.
As for Microsoft, I'll stick with XP until it becomes obsolete, because I like my computer, I don't want to upgrade it just because I can't use Vista. And I'm not going to worry about hackers and all that. I've got another computer that is going to be set up as a firebox.

I've had a home office for years and years. It allows me to keep all of the cables, papers, and junk out of the rest of my house. I don't like to work in front of the TV. City-data is bad enough, maybe worse.
I don't know all about those fancy freeware thingamagigs the boys are talking about, but I love having a scanner and printer handy for whatever I need.
I have upteen filing cabinets and books on shelves. All of the furnishings are real furniture, not that stuff you get from the office supply place. It looks a little weird, but it's mine. I made a giant drawing table out of an old kitchen table that I didn't want to get rid of by putting half a sheet of masonite on top. There are plenty of drawers and boxes to hide things in, when I need to.
Only thing is that I've gotten lazy in dealing with the tangle of cables. I wish that I had a separate USB dock with about 10 ports. I haven't gone wireless in the house yet.
That's all.

LOL! Sorry me and Brian kinda went off on something completely unrelated to Microsoft. And free..er.. and better... and easier(to some), and secure..r.. LOL!
Now I'm not saying anything bad about Microsoft, their Vista is great, it's much more secure, and all, it's just too slow for me, they added to many graphics in it. So I don't really like it. A GUI(Graphical User Interface) doesn't need to be more demanding than the best game I have, which right now is Half-Life 2 which I only play for Counter-Strike Source.
Anyways, I have my own home office, I use it for school work, I basically live at it when I'm at home unless it's about 80 degrees, then it's by itself while I'm outside.

Hey, dammit, you software nerds are talking over my head. And as a short man with a Napoleon complex, I resent that. I stopped programming after MS-DOS went bye-bye, and I haven't understood a thing since.
