I was going to amend this to the other current Ebay thread (shoes/Greece) but thought I'd post it separately.

I just spent several hours opening an Ebay account, connecting it with my Paypal account, and posting about 40 items I didn't want and couldn't sell on my own business pages - mostly books and violin cases. I'm burned out and I don't care if I never see another Ebay page again, really.

But I'm curious; when I went into the areas where I'd posted items, I did not see my items. Is there a time lag where a new account has to be approved before they post the items? (I did look around a bit but i couldn't find anything about this and I'm tired of it.)

TIA

It takes quite a long time for new items to be indexed into search. Especially on a Sunday where there is higher activity (many people like their items to end on a Sunday evening). They might not show up in regular search until tomorrow.

Are they showing on your My Ebay > Selling page?

There might be. It can also take a little time for things to process. Check again now.

If they are showing on your Selling page, as an active listing, all should be fine. Check again later this evening.

A young woman from Ebay just called me on the phone to verify the account, so I guess the items will be up soon if they're not already.

..just checked. They're not up yet. I guess they will be eventually.

Thanks! I may have set the prices too high. I didn't want to give the stuff away. I guess I'll have 9+ days to find out, then I can start all over again..
